Discover Mazera: Mazemen & Ramen

Mazera: Mazemen & Ramen is a delightful hidden gem nestled in La Habra, California, located at 1456 S Harbor Blvd. For anyone looking to experience unique and flavorful noodle dishes, this spot is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant specializes in both mazemen and ramen, two distinct Japanese noodle dishes that are a perfect blend of traditional flavors with a modern twist.

The first thing that hits you when walking into Mazera is the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The décor is simple but stylish, with modern touches that make you feel comfortable right away. It's the kind of place where you can kick back with friends or enjoy a quiet solo meal while diving into a bowl of delicious noodles.

When it comes to the menu, Mazera doesn’t disappoint. If you’re unfamiliar with mazemen, it's a dry noodle dish, served with a rich sauce that’s often savory and umami-packed. It’s a great option for those who want something a little different from traditional ramen. The ramen, of course, is a classic favorite, served in a rich broth with a variety of toppings like chashu pork, soft-boiled eggs, and green onions. Each dish is crafted with care, and you can taste the attention to detail in every bite.

A standout feature at Mazera is the quality of their ingredients. The noodles are made fresh daily, offering the perfect texture whether you're slurping up a hot bowl of ramen or mixing up your mazemen. The broths, especially the rich tonkotsu and soy-based options, have a deep, savory flavor that’s hard to find in many other places. It’s clear that the team at Mazera takes pride in offering something more than just a typical bowl of noodles.

One of the most popular items on the menu is the mazemen itself. This dish is perfect for anyone who’s looking for a hearty, satisfying meal without the mess of broth. The noodles are perfectly coated in the sauce, which has a balance of salty, sweet, and umami flavors. The toppings are carefully selected to complement the dish, with ingredients like tender pork, crispy garlic, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds adding layers of flavor and texture. It’s a dish that’s both comforting and exciting, offering a unique take on traditional Japanese noodles.

For ramen lovers, Mazera offers several options that hit all the right notes. The tonkotsu ramen is a crowd favorite, with a rich, creamy broth that’s been simmered for hours to develop its depth of flavor. Paired with perfectly cooked noodles, it’s a bowl that feels like a hug in a bowl. If you’re feeling adventurous, the spicy miso ramen packs a punch with a spicy kick that adds an extra layer of excitement to the meal.

Mazera’s commitment to quality extends beyond just the noodles. The restaurant also offers a selection of appetizers and sides that are perfect for sharing. The gyoza, crispy on the outside with a juicy filling, is a great choice to start off your meal. And don’t forget to try their chashu bao, which features tender pork tucked into a soft, fluffy bun - it’s the kind of dish you’ll want to savor slowly.

Customer reviews consistently highlight the restaurant’s friendly service and the fast turnaround of orders. It’s not uncommon to see locals returning time and again, drawn by the delicious food and inviting atmosphere. Many mention how the staff always takes the time to explain the menu items and offer recommendations, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable.

For those planning a visit, Mazera is conveniently located at 1456 S Harbor Blvd, La Habra, CA 90631. Whether you're a local resident or just passing through, it’s the perfect spot to indulge in a bowl of ramen or mazemen. • We were craving mazemen but didn’t want to drive across town, so we decided to try Mazera in La Habra. It’s a cozy spot with around ten tables and plenty of parking, which makes it an easy choice for a casual dinner. Service was prompt and friendly — we were seated right away, given water and menus, and the waitress offered helpful recommendations. I went with the Chashu Mazemen, while the rest of my group ordered the Kimchi Mazemen. Both dishes were flavorful, rich, and surprisingly filling even before the staff brought out rice to mix with the remaining sauce. The noodles had great texture, the chashu was tender, and the flavors came together nicely without being heavy. The space itself is simple and relaxed — nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable for a quiet dinner. Food: 4/5 – Balanced, flavorful, and satisfying. Ambiance: 4/5 – Comfortable and well-lit. Service: 4/5 – Friendly and attentive. Overall, Mazera is a solid neighborhood spot for mazemen — convenient, consistent, and worth returning to when the noodle craving hits.

  • I tried the Original Mazemen and the Kimchi Mazemen, and both were absolutely delicious! I loved it so much that I came back again today after my first visit yesterday. The staff are very friendly, the parking is spacious, and above all, the food is simply amazing. Highly recommend this place!

  • Even though I still prefer Ramen, this Mazemen is excellent. Portion was just nice, not too much for me, taste was great. Service was also excellent, very friendly staff (or more likely the owner herself?), clean and nice ambience.

  • The food came out right away and the place was so clean. My spicy reman was a bit salty but my husband’s regulars tonkatsu ramen was really good. Fries oyster was fresh and crunchy as well.

  • The mazemen here is soooo good! I tried Mogu Mogu before this and it’s essentially the same thing but I personally think Mazera is better. The chashu is very good not dry and the portion can feed more than one person, especially if you add the rice at the end. I always end up with leftovers which I eat the next day and it’s still nice the next day.
